2019 IGA Golf Day

On behalf of your hosts Peter and Anthony Zipf (pictured with Romeo Bordignon centre) IGA, their suppliers and The Invincibles Tour, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for joining us for what was another fantastic IGA Golf Day.

Where; you guessed it, it was another brilliant day weatherwise to host The Invincibles fifteenth Annual IGA Golf Day, where our guests were joined by a great team of volunteers and some 132 guests who took to the fairways to test their skills “if not their luck”, but most importantly, to enjoy a great day out at the magnificently presented Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort.

Where the sole aim, was to have fun whilst raising funds for the Invincibles Sunshine Coast Junior Golfing Tour, and they certainly did that, as the photos below and in the gallery would indicate.

It really doesn’t get any better, than witnessing a great group of like-minded people getting together to enjoy each-others company and have fun in the process, and thanks to everyone involved, that’s exactly what we achieved!

Congratulations to the Mad Havoc Team in “Craig Jansz, Joel Stahlhut, Michael Craig and Matt Blundell” for setting a new IGA Corporate Golf Day record of 17 under par, that surpassed the old mark of 16 under that was set at the Hyatt Regency Coolum, Friday the 14th of August 2009, by the Drummond Golf Maroochydore Team!

Due to some incredible scores being recorded, with no less than four being within one shot (53 to 53.75nett) where it was noted after feedback and scrutiny by the scorers, that the results should have been as follows!

This year’s champions “The Mighty Marauders - p2 above” consisting of Darren & Tyler Duncan and Clinton & Catlin Vanderkruk who lived up to their name as they recorded a fantastic win with a very impressive 53 Nett. The Bridgestone’s (p3) consisting of Dale Officer, Craig & Jasmine Lena and Steve Thorn took out second place with a magnificent 53.5 Nett.

Third place (p4) went to Property-Today group that included Mitch Sinclair, Jamie & Joshua Holbrook and David Grenfell, who came in with a score of 53.625 Nett.

Fourth Place went to the Drummond 1 Team (p1 below) that consisted Paul Bellero, Mick Cullen, Roy McLean and Pete Lawrence after recording a nett score of 53.75.

We do appreciate that whilst mix-ups are disappointing and at times happen, it is very import to us that the right results are recorded, and the rightful contestants receive their awards!

As we’ve mentioned many times before, your golf days wouldn’t be the great success they are without our excellent team of volunteers doing the fantastic job they do, and that certainly applies to Irene Lally (p4 above) who’s input and direction is priceless, as is the incredible job Marshan Miller does.

Their unbelievable support and input are without doubt very much appreciated by The Invincibles Tour, their members and everyone who participates in our IGA Days.

On behalf of everyone that supported the day, we would like to thank the following men, women and juniors for their very generous input and support to help make our day the great success it was, and they included Ray Lally, Bob & Marshan Miller (Blind Fold Hole) Diane Broome, Judy Miller (registration) Charlie Dann (shots into the par 3 fourth p2 above) and Shae Wools-Cobb (p3) who played shots down the 18th and our Invincibles members that came to support the day.

A huge thanks from everyone to “LITTLE JO POWER" p2 above, who certainly powered up the BBQ and brought a smile to everyone’s face as they made the most of an incredible meal prior to heading out on course!

There's no doubt that the winners on the day were those that took part, as it was one of the best days one could imagine, starting out with a BBQ on arrival at registration (Thanks to the very supportive team at Noosa Springs and our suppliers) where our guests came to party "and party they did" on a course that looked an absolute treat, and on a cracker of a winter's day in paradise.

That combined with a whole host of prizes and show bags that were once again filled to overflowing with all sorts of goodies thanks to our supporters, and lucky door prizes that topped off what was a fantastic day.

The Invincibles Tour would personally like to acknowledge and pass on their thanks to Peter & Anthony Zipf (main photo) and their team at IGA for their very generous support over many years (15 to be exact).

Their input and support have been very much appreciated and once again they have helped us move mountains in the name of junior golf.

The Invincibles Tour would also like to extend their thanks to Romeo Bordignon (p3 below) for his fantastic input and support, he made Irene’s and The Tours job so much easier, which we believe showed on the day.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank Mark Brady (General Manager) at Noosa Springs and his great team in Lizie Bray (Function & Events Manager) along with Warren Ellis (Director of Golf) their bar staff, caterers, and ground staff for making sure everything ran smoothly, but most importantly, for making everyone feel so welcome.

Not to mention the incredible job they did with the BBQ prior to teeing off, which was just brilliant, looking after everyone out on course, dinner and at presentations, that just topped off what was a magical day had by all.

There’s no doubt that the 8th hole that was supervised by Bob & Marshan Miller (p4 below) really tested the skills of our guests and created a lot of laughs!

Roy McLean’s 30m putt blind folded that went in the hole, certainly got everyone’s attention!

It was noted that most of the men really missed dressing up as ladies and have requested that the dresses and wigs get brought back next year.

“We think this says a lot about our male guests”.

To a very surprised, if not “absolutely shocked” Zoe Maxwell (Virginia) and Yevin Samararatne (Windaroo Lakes) who were each presented with an Invincibles $1000 support package to contest the Australian Amateurs or a major golfing event of their choosing, that was presented by one of last year’s recipients, Bailey Arnott who did a brilliant job presenting the awards and letting the audience know how much their support meant to him and Justice Bosio last year.

Matt Cooper (p3 above with voucher) was the lucky winner of the $500 X-Golf prize for the nearest the pin on the 13th hole that was proudly sponsored by the X-Golf group.

The Invincibles Tour would also like to thank Michael Gawne and Callaway Australia and Noosa Springs Golf & Spa, for their fantastic support with the main raffle valued at a staggering $4,455.00 (p2 above) that was won by the Porter Family (p1 above) who like Wade Hastie last year, Jon Porter donated them back for auction, which raised another $2000 after Braden Anderson (X-Golf – p2 above) was the successful bidder.

The extra bonus will go towards helping The Invincibles Tour promote and develop junior golf on the Sunshine Coast and throughout South East Queensland.

Caitlin Vanderkruk (p4 above) won the putting comp after sinking a 30m putt with the first putt of the comp!

We would like to believe that IGA, their suppliers, Callaway Australia and Drummond, would take a certain amount of pride and satisfaction out of knowing that their support is without doubt making a difference by giving every junior involved in golf on the Sunshine Coast and South-East Queensland an unbelievable opportunity to follow their dreams and reach their full potential in a safe, fair, and friendly environment under the guidance of The Invincibles Tour and support of IGA.

We know we speak for everyone when we extend special thanks, and our appreciation to all our local golf clubs, and our sponsors and supporters (above) for the massive input and support they give to The Invincibles Tour, for without that support, we “The Tour” just couldn’t exist?

We would also like to thank Cassie Porter, Zoe Maxwell and Caitlin Wheatley for their support at Presentations!

It was fantastic day out and the major reason for that was the massive input by everyone from the staff at Noosa Springs, a great team of volunteers and guests who came to have a good time and to make sure that everyone enjoyed their day!

Their support helps us enormously with the promotion and development of Junior Golf on the Sunshine Coast which is something we don’t take for granted and very much appreciate.....

We would also like to make special mention of The Invincibles Committee who do an excellent job behind the scenes to make sure The Tour runs well, in particular Joss Quirk, Frank Schmidt, and Neil Charkow. They give their time so willingly to help at events, behind the scenes or with The Invincibles website in the hope of making sure that your golfing experience is just that much more enjoyable.
