If you’re in Queensland on holidays or a local that loves their golf, beaches, restaurants or just relaxing, then you really can’t go past the beautifully presented and friendly hospitality that Headland Golf Club and the Sunshine Coast has to offer.
The Headland Golf Club is situated in Buderim overlooking their beautifully manicured layout with breath taking views from the balcony whilst looking down the valley to Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba and out to the Pacific Ocean.
If you haven’t visited the majestic Headland Golf Club (Queensland - Australia) or enjoyed a round of golf on their challenging par 72 layout, that's situated a comfortable fifty-five-minute drive North of Brisbane, then you are really missing out on one of Queensland’s and the Sunshine Coasts most enjoyable experiences.

On what was another brilliant day to be outdoors, Headland Golf Club rolled out the red carpet and made the most of the perfect conditions “23 degrees, not a cloud in the sky and just the slightest of breezes” to showcase their course and facilities at their magnificent best. It truly is breathtaking when you arrive at Headland, to take in the majestic views overlooking the course to Mooloolaba and over the Pacific Ocean, is just awe inspiring and…………
Certainly, set up a fantastic atmosphere for our juniors to take full advantage of the conditions, particularly Caitlin Vanderkruk (Keperra) and Wilson Foster (Mt Coolum) who recorded hard fought rounds of 80 and 78 respectively.
Wilson’s win was a fitting result given this is his second last Invincibles Tour event prior to turning 18 on the 19th of September (old man).
His last event should be the Maroochy River Junior Open on Sunday, the 1st of September, where we look forward to catching up and wishing him all the best!
Caitlin’s win gives her three gross wins on Tour, which automatically gets her an exemption (invitation) into The Invincibles Gold Cup of Cups Championship that will be hosted by Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort, Sunday the 24th of November!
The 9-hole winner was Ellianna MacRae (Maroochy River) runner-up was Chase Rendell (Tin Can Bay)
with rounds of 46 and 47 respectively.
The 5-hole results went to Brody MacRae (Maroochy River) runner-up went to Oakley Hall with rounds of 21 and 25!
Full Results, NTP’s and Gallery will follow in the "Latest News" section on The Invincibles Website:
The Invincibles Tour would like to pass on their thanks and appreciation to Headland’s hard working team that includes David, Margaret, Sandy, Simon and Frank, their Caterer’s, Bar & Office Staff, Clay Williams, Golf & Operations Manager and Megan Thorp, their Ground Staff, and the team in the Pro Shop, Adam Norlander, Dom and Mackenzie, who had their course and facilities set up magnificently to host what was another great day out on Tour, but most importantly, as with most clubs, for the way they make everyone feel so welcome.
Congratulations to Liam Thomson (North Lakes - p-1 below) and Caitlyn Wheatley (Noosa Springs p2) for qualifying for The Invincibles 2019 IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship that will be hosted by the very generous and supportive Twin Waters, Peregian Golf Course, Pelican Waters, and Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort during the last week of the September School holidays (29th of September to the 2nd of October – 2019).
Caitlyn Wheatley also won The Invincibles Sunshine Coast Course Cup with a nett score of 73, and by doing so, qualified for the Sunshine Coast Gold Cup of Cups Championship that will be hosted by Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort, Sunday November the 24th, followed immediately by The Invincibles Annual Junior Presentation Dinner (all qualifiers are requested to make themselves available at the dinner).
The Invincibles 2019 Inter – Club Team Shield points for Round 10 are as follows: Headland, earned the four points for winning, with Noosa Springs earning two points for second, and Maroochy River came in third to earn one point!!!
Highlights included: Samara Dryden’s birdie on 8 to kick start her round, Wilson Foster’s approach to the 11th to set up his birdie, Amy Hodgkins brilliant shot from the tree on 11, Caitlyn Wheatley’s pitch & putt for birdie on 14, and Ruby Kavanagh’s chip in on 5 for birdie, which were just a few of the many, many highlights during the eighteen hole championship.
Other highlights in the 9-hole section: saw Sam Wilson & Chase Rendell’s drives down the first, Brody MacRae’s drive onto the green in the five hole division, but the main highlight in the 5 - 9-hole division was the spirit in which they played the game, the sportsmanship and camaraderie that was on display was brilliant and very exciting to be involved in, which once again, were just a few of the many highlights during the 5-9 hole division.
The Tour would like to thank those that take the time to pass on highlights that happen during our junior events, we feel it adds to the day and it’s nice to acknowledge great performances.
The Invincibles Tour would also like to thank and make special mention of Callaway Australia and Drummond Golf Maroochydore for very generously supporting The Invincibles Tour on the day.
