On what was another picture-perfect day for our juniors to test their skills on one of the coasts most challenging courses, the Headland Golf Club, who had their course set up magnificently to host their Schweppes Junior Classic where Fahim Hilmi (Pacific) produced the round of the day. A very impressive………


Even par 72 to be named the best gross and overall Schweppes Headland Junior Classic Champion for 2021.


Maddison Kelly (Noosa Springs) took out the Girls Best Gross title with 77 off the stick.

The Tour would like to congratulate both Fahim and Maddison (p 1-2 below) for being the first qualifiers for the 2022 Invincibles IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championships, that will be hosted by Peregian Golf Course, Twin Waters, Pelican Waters and Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort from the 25th to the 28th of September 2022.


Fahim (Pacific p1-3-4 below) also won The Invincibles Course Cup with 72 nett in a c/b, which in turn qualified him for their Gold Cup of Cups Championship, that will be hosted by the magnificently manicured and presented Noosa Springs Golf and Spa Resort, Sunday the 21st of November, followed immediately by The Invincibles Presentation Dinner.

After close scrutiny of the results, The Invincibles Inter-Club Team shield points for round 9 went to Headland who earned four points for the win, with 222 in a c/b with Noosa who recorded 222 to receive 2 points, with Maroochy River coming in third on 233 to collect 1 point.


The Invincibles Tour on behalf of their members, families, and guests, would like to pass on their thanks and appreciation to Tilly Poulsen (Golf Operations) and the great team at Headland, that included their Caterers, Bar and Ground Staff who had their course and facilities set up magnificently to host their Classic, but most importantly, like most clubs, in the way they made everyone feel so welcome.


The two lefties in Sam Wilson (Maroochy River) and Chase Lear (Headland) continued their never-ending battle (yellow tees) which Sam won in a c/b after both boys finished tied together on 44-gross!


Benjamin Cox took out third place in a c/b with Jarron Hill which seemed to be the order of the day, after both finished tied together on 47-gross!

The Tour would also like to make mention and thank Frank Schmidt for the enormous effort he puts in at events and behind the scenes.


Highlights on the day included: Jack Jones’s second shots into 7 and 13 to set eagle putts, but unfortunately, he missed both, Shane Dunning and Shae Coghlan’s bunker shots on 8, and Cooper Field and Jaxon Smith’s approaches to eleven to set up their birdies, which were just a few of the many, many highlights during the day.
